This year the FrOSCon creative contest had a new topic

Analogue meets Digital

And the topic seemed to be a good choice, because we had more submissions than ever! The decision which ones are the best was really hard, but here are the winners:

1st place: “MP3 Cassette” from Annika

Prize: A Kindl, books worth 50Euro from OpenSourcePress, as well as a coupon for a print abo for one year for a magazine of the LinuxNewMedia AG.

Next to the regular submissions we also got a video from the Stop-Motion Workshop of the kids and youth tracks FrogLabs. This amazing video was awarded with penguin figures from Kernel Concepts and LinuxNewMedia AG, as well as some magazines for Linux starters from the LinuxNewMedia AG.

But, to not keep anything for us, here are the other submissions which did not made it under the top three. Each of this submissions was awarded with a digital abo for a year of a magazine of the LinuxNewMedia AG.

Welcome at the Creative Contest of FrOSCon!

In 2011, FrOSCon organizes a “FrOSCon Creative Contest” for the third time. The theme for the contest is the topic

Analogue meets Digital

and you should deliver a result as creative as possible. This could be a video, an embroidery design, a light-installation or, … There are no strict rules, you can be as creative as possible, you just have to convince the FrOSCon jury.

We expect that a documentation / instruction / source code of your work is licensed under a free license, as outlined by http://www.opensource.org/licenses.

The three most creative results will be donated with attractive non-cash prizes:

  • 1. Prize: non-cash prize worth 300,- Euro
  • 2. Prize: non-cash prize worth 200,- Euro
  • 3. Prize: non-cash prize worth 100,- Euro

The participants and their contributions will be presented during the FrOSCon.

Please submit your contributions to fcc@froscon.org. The deadline is the 19st August at 12pm. (Please upload big files at a file hoster. A selection of such can be found at the links section on the right side.)
